£300 which was still cheaper than a crane which was the other option.

 

I thought of drill/screw gun with throw line but I reckon after a couple of times it would birds nest.

 

 

Perhaps a big fishing reel with strong fishing line would do it.

Just a thought.

Sounds like an interesting job.

I would do a bunch of slings and crabs, the wear on the line is minimal, than have some cheapo cord to pull them back, but you would only have to retrieve every 20 cuts. ( or however many slings you had). You can always sling multiple slings to 1 biner aswell. I buy tape off the reel and tie tape knots to make loops.

I normally zip line with pulleys, do you get a lot of rope damage with karabs?

 

 

No, the metal is passing over the rope so fast that the rope doesn't absorb heat. The crabs do though.

 

You must have used a speed line before?

 

I just use steel screw gates. Cheap and strong.
