Two blokes were outside our house doing a repair on an electrical cable, not for me I might add just in the street. I was going outside and one of them said " Is there a cafe handy for a cuppa round here ?" and I was offering him directions when his mate said "No you're supposed to say I'll get the kettle on if you want a brew". I was so impressed I made them one.

You learn a knack when your working on the roads or digging on a dig-up gang..... Some one comes out of a near-by house asking "what are you doing?" The answer is....... Waiting for a good looking lady like you to ask us if we want a coffee.

Works a treat most times.....

Used to work with a lad who had so much face you could call him a clock. One miserable day, around five when everything had gone wrong all day he stated he was off in search of a brew.

Twenty minutes later he returned with a tray laden with a pot of tea, chicken sandwiches, fruit cake and biscuits. He'd walked two hundred yards up the road to a row of terraced houses and started knocking on doors until he'd found an occupied property. Explaining the plight of the hungry and thirsty tree fellers down the road, the unknown house owner knocked up a tea, with instructions to come straight back if everyone's needs hadn't been satisfied. I sorta suspect the Good Samaritan may have had her own needs which he may have returned to satisfy later that evening:biggrin:

Sorry for the derail.

Love it.

I don't do much domestic work but, when I do, if it's a dry house, I have no shame in asking if the kettle has broke down.

I'm sure someone will be along soon to tell me I'm a cheeky, so and so.

Ha ha ha ya cheeky git

I swear down all my customers suddenly seem to have Alzheimer's when it comes to payment
