You can sharpen the impulse hardened blades as easily as the others with the £4 diamond feather files. After all, it was only wood that made them go blunt.

Hi Jon, you're right mate arbtalk is a great place to find out about "stuff"

I can't make it to CONFOR this year, really busy with trees etc. then going to Spain to collapse for 2 weeks :)

Glue a sheet of 240 wet and dry to a sheet of glass or some flat worktop, spray some WD on it and rub the blade flat on it. Turn it over and do the other side. The blade will get a bit thinner but it will get sharper.

Gomtaro blades are fairly easily sharpened with a diamond feather blade off Amazon. You can make them sharper/ more aggressive than new if you want to.

 

If any of you have old Gomtaro blades that you feel are too blunt would be very grateful for them and be happy to pay the postage. Or any other Silky blades as long as they aren't broken.
