550xp or Echo equivalent?

Al my 540 was a pig to start then last 3 weeks it's been as good as gold. I had my 550 the longest and it starts great in the cold and when we had that heat wave the other day it still started without a problem. Go on and pick up a 550 and stick a 13 on it

I got a 560xp 17 months ago and that had 'all the quirks ironed out'. Ran well for two months and has never been the same since. Even had a new engine two months ago and it's still crap!

Same to be said of my t540xp.

 

Neither start well when they're cold.

 

Or warm.

 

Or hot.

Totally agree. Had a 576xp been back under warranty 3 times, they even did a "sonic clean" once ! Came back ok for a bit then went t@ts up every time. Got shot after their last try and fix it. Their top handled saw was crap too in my opinion, but so is the 201t unless you're a wiz at tweaking em.

Actually the Echo cs450 seems a better option as its 5kg but 45cc which is 5cc less than the Husky 550xp.

However that's not a problem as I have a 560xp.

So after a bit more time on websites and a bit if procrastinating the Echo cs550 seems like a poor choice to compliment my husky 560xp because the echo is heavier, much less power and will run a smaller bar.

 

So it looks like I'll have to buy a Nestle 550xp and hope for the best.

Yes the CS550 is a no-go since it's a very detuned 620sx which is a blinding saw.

 

If you want something reliable to rival a 550xp get the CS450 ported (they leave a lot on the table to play with) or a Dolly..

Actually somebody sent an email yesterday enquiring about a 45cc Echo it seems to be a nice saw not many reviews yet

Go Echo Al as that's what you really want; you're too reluctant with Husky to enjoy the 550XP.

Live with the bigger 620SX or send a CS 450 to Spud. Not that I know a thing about either saw but I trust the judgement of those who do.

You're right, I know you're right but I fancy a smaller saw than the 560xp.

The cs620sx sounds like a great saw but is the same as my 560xp.

 

The cs450 is the right weight but 5cc less than a 550xp and I'd be reluctant to modify a new cs450 that has 2yr warranty.
