now thats a cracking tree mark, do you have any before pics

 

No thats actually a year on, we came back to do some minor work i'e take more weight off over the bike rack and gave it a nice big mulch circle.

When i first started the "old school" climber i worked with then used bow saws and secatuers on every reduction we did, His mind set was, "A proper reduction should never need a chainsaw", Looking at the reductions he produced back then i had to agree with him, he kept the shape perfectly of every tree he reduced!!

 

I havent worked with anyone since that has used secatuers on a big reduction.

I use Secateurs on most reductions especially on conifers. We use ARS V8 secateurs at work, they are much better than Felcos. The shape of the blade is more curved and they stay really sharp. Also because they are stainless steel you dont have to dry them or oil them. No one imports them into this country at the moment, but I think they would sell really well.
