Storing your climbing rope

I flake mine into one of those flexible plastic trugs. Plenty of room for lanyard, harness etc. to go in on top.

Rope bags for all ropes. Riggin and climbing lines.

 

The only exception is I usually have a 15-20 metre rope kicking about for smaller trees. That gets coiled and put in my climbing bag.

I don't see why you would want to use anything other than a rope bag.

I'd love one of the Teufelberger ones but I know I'd spend as much again on shiny crap to hang off it!

 

I'll probably get a DMM Porter one when my bag for life wears out.

Ex army kit bag holds my rope, lanyard, harness and other bits and bobs with room to spare. Only problem is that its NATO green, so if you cover it in brash you have to do a bit of searching to find it again!

 

Ha ha ha spot on fella . My everyday climbing kit for trees up to 50ft is stored in a ............yes you guessed it a camouflage bag . You wouldn't believe how many times I have nearly lost the beggar

Always flaked into a bag, although we have recently started using these for some of our ropes.. cheap and cheerful and nice and solid / waterproof. Downside is don't put wet ropes in as they will sweat and moulder.

 

I find the cheap rope bags disintegrate pretty quickly and the good ones are pretty expensive, I bought the barrels as an experiment and they are doing ok so far...

Daisy chain and kit bags

College taught to daisy chain but I used to coil and now have a rope bag. Not too long ago an assesor told me that daisy chaining is frowned on these days as the rope has memory or summit.
