Is that the new updated spring ??? The design is total crap though I can't believe with the time spent in development they got it so wrong ! it really lets down what other wise would of been a good saw.. I must of gone through 10 or more rear AV springs in the time I've had mine ,luckily not doing any major damage.

We've got three like that, some pollock (me) put all their eggs in one basket and bought four of the plastic piles of dog poo.

 

And I was mocked for buying one. I actually think it's a throaty little mother, just complete with some glaringly obvious hideous design flaws.

Depending on your dealer, you may get that on warranty. It's worth asking.

 

If its out of warranty there are a few mods that can be done. I've not been on many of the American sites recently, but they're the guys who can mod stuff like this. A bit of searching may help you do a more permanent solution as unfortunately a new belly on that thing is likely to break again.

When I bought them everyone was singing their praises and saying the stihls were gutless dump, then they started to disintigrate.
