Today was one of the best rides I've had, it was near perfect weather, not to hot but sunny and not cold enough for leggings or a jacket. My oldest mate, dog ( Burt) and his wife for company, both are seasoned riders and know there stuff, in fact my mate Ian is sponsored by Santa Cruz for his cross county racing so he is someone to get stoked off. We went to Grizdale and did a cool loop in there that uses some of all the trails but then heads up onto Parkamoor where the views were stunning. Well I have not been out for a while as its been very wet, however today was crisp and dry with some snow on the tops so I went for a mooch around one of my favourite routes, Kentmere.

The track I take has been basket washed out in places some of the holes are 3 feet deep in places and the track is a mess with rubble and debris that has washed down. As I got further up the trail there was quite a bit of snow about and the ground was very boggy so I ImageUploadedByArbtalk1450032072.336821.jpg.6b70f2f839231a497681d068d7065209.jpgdecided to head down HP plantation to see how that trail was and it too had been badly washed out, so much so I hit a big hole and went over the bars!! No injury though except feeling a bit stiff.

Nice bike Hodge. I nearly went out today but after working in the p*ssing down rain all day yesterday I gave it a pass. Maybe next week on a local loop :thumbup1:

The kids are getting very keen on their bikes, and I hate tarmac, so the wife needed a mountain bike, and we didn't want to fall into the trap of buying cheap shite again.
We ended up at Bedgebury and bought an ex-hire Diamondback Heist 2.0 for half the rrp.
Seems to have everything you need for the stuff we plan to do.
Has anyone got experience of this bike?

Not that bike, but thoroughly recommend buying used from the hire centre - our local one always service very well and means the kids can have a suitable size regardless of growing like weeds :-) Sadly they dont do my size  :-(
