In the park we have a lake with an island in the middle 2 years ago i planted a taxodium natural england did not like it much but imagine in 50 years time when the knees come up in the lake by the way it is now called davids island:001_smile:

yeah i havent had a good tour of the place yet had a little walk through the first bit of park but would be interested too see some more! i shall have to see when i can get there and arrange something..

i think it would be good to brutalise a tree for a comparison. Maybe my less orthodox pruning may provide similar strong apical regrowth:001_tongue:

 

certainly the wound areas would be smaller.
