Yeah it is pretty good, but i fear what this lad is trying to cut really needs a blade, or you have to try a mulch blade kit, absoulutly destroys anything in it its path. I also say a chain head, looked like a medevel thing, 4 bits of motor cycle chain fitted to it.

Used a chain type on a big John Deer with a twin spindle topper on the back . You are right bud and it wont break the gearbox if you hit a lump of something ! I use the Oregon mulch blade with the turned down ends . Works a treat but not such a wide swipe . That 4.0mm Diamond edge line is really good .

Brogio chain heads banned long ago and rightly so. Why no solid metal blade allowed tho? Far less veg shrapnel... I never knew about storing line in water!! That's a revelation!

 

Nylon is hygroscopic and absorbs water making it less brittle and a little bit more heavy .

A bit of intresting information, for every inch of additional cord you pull out you lose a 1000 rpm from the engine speed.

 

Dependant on Diameter of cord and Size ( grunt ) of engine . :001_smile:
