When you do could you PM the prices through please. I am cutting a load of new fencing on the mill at the moment and wondering if should dip the lot in creosote prior to installing. The only posts in this place that are still good after being here 30+ years are the old sleepers and telegraph poles I originally put in. All the supposed " new treated guaranteed junk" has failed at around the 5 year mark.

Will do mate. If you dip yourself in a vat of creosote Bob, you can go on for a bit longer and not retire. It will keep you in tip top shape.

Iv no doubt that proper creosote is the best option for sheer durability, however im a fencing contractor and given the choice i will not go near the stuff, dirty stinking stuff it is, IMO there are good alternatives out there- chestnut/oak (for fencing) which are much nicer to deal with and no nasties. I hate cutting into sleepers- no matter how much i try to avoid it i still reckon i inhale fine particles of dust:thumbdown: not doing that again if i can help it.

Finally got round to finding a decent source for the old style stuff. Decided against the modern alternatives. To many people had bad things to say about it.

Why would you want to know the price? You don't need any creosote.

I know your mate uses loads of it though.:001_rolleyes:
