Oh bloody hell! You don't have much luck do you Will?

 

I suppose the most damaging strikes have been two embedded rocks - one about 6 inches into a yew stem that did no favours to my chainsaw chain (that was not long after I started out) and more recently a fist sized stone embedded deep in the crotch of an elm log.

Many, many years ago my dad found a large mortice chisel in a large beech he was cutting for fire wood, he is a joiner, he cleaned it up and made a handle for it its been in his tool box ever since.

I found half a flat file embedded in a sycamore that I felled from behind a farmyard. I can imagine the disgruntled farmer breaking the file and pelting it across the yard for it to land in the fork of the branches. Saw didn't like it much either!

12" spike last week all 5 teeth on lucas was 1 of 3 in the log,only hit this one the joys of garden trees, onward and upwards.
