MS 390 owners your ratings please

For the owners of an Stihl MS390 I would like your ratings on it please ?

 

Does it cope well with a good work load being used each day for several hours a time. ?

 

Would you rate it as a work horse saw ?

As ive posted in the other thread ive never used a 390 but i have used a 361 and i thought it was a cracking saw, nice and light with plenty of power

Thanks Mozza thats really helpfull info my saw has been great to learn on but now its proving just a bit too small for heavy work thats its doing now .

I think the MS390 is a cracking saw for what it is, but i'd say it would not put upto daily use and abuse especially several hours at a time! Thats a massive amount of time for any saw to be used daily.

my old man sill runs one i think?? the predecessor to the 361 i believe (wich i think is the most over rated saw ever made!) is 6 years old and still running strong.unless im very confused wich is probably more than likely! you will be hard pushed to pick up a decent one as they were replaced by the 361 5 years ago

The 360/036 came before the 361.

 

390 is one of the orange handled semi-pro saws. Wouldnt buy one for regular use myself.

hmm like i said confused !should of researched that a bit ! cant help on the ms390 then, but the saw the 361 replaced was damn reliable but sorry that does not answer the question so ill shut up now!

Are you going to Jonesies Arb event Eastwater?? Maybe some of the dealers there will let you try a couple of saws out, see whats right for you.
