PDF to word

Hi all

 

im not that great on a pc. Can any help me on how to convert a pdf file in to a word file.

cant seem to do it with out having to purchase software

but cant you just select all, copy & paste into Word?

yes seen a few online, but not sure how safe they are?, not keen on the free trails as the only last a short time.

 

I just tried copy and paste, but I cant edit the file that way

Select the text in the pdf, go to word and "paste special" and choose "unformatted text". You'll have to reformat it but at least you can edit it. If you just paste it in it will be a picture of the pdf.

On this subject and sorry to hijack but how can you do word to pdf I have tried but you have to pay a subscription to Adobe

Open doc in Word. Select File/Export, should be a pdf version option.

I use "CutePDF" I understand it's a free download. You press print and select "CutePDF" as a printer.

On the last few versions of word you just "save as" and in the "save as type" box there is a PDF option.

Word from 2010 has a save to PDF as standard, cant remember for the older versions. I use office 365 which is an annual subscription and much better functionality than older versions.

 

As for PDF I use Foxit as my editor rather than Adobe. Its about £70 rather than £300+. I use it loads to import image files into CAD (if I cant get the CAD file) so worth it for me but not for every one.
