Has hardly changed' date=' aparty from the secondary woodland that has now engulfed the view :sad .[/quote]

The same avenue from the other side, and the cloak that's grown up around it.

You can make out the same path in both photos.

Will look to re-open this little piece of landscape and continue the originators vision.

Would be nice if that got thinned out some what MonkeyD, You could have an info board with those 2 pics on it so people have an idea of why the work has taken place, Be a nice little feature i reckon

Local politics will decide it's fate Moz.

Hopefully I'll be able to sway it.

Here's another local pub with an interesting view on the changing times of travel.

Any idea what the building to the left of the pub was used as? Lovely old pic!

Was originally an 18th century toll keeper's cottage, then became the opening to the pubs cellar, as there is a tunnel under the road.

I guess that's what's happening on the left in the first shot.

Dick Turpin suposedly drunk here before entertaining himself with the passing travellers.

The gap between the two buildings is a free for all, as you can't get traffic from both side of the road through at the same time.
