Work it out in reverse if needs be. How long will it take you to do, your price then divide it down.

I don't like measured amounts as you often get stuck in the future with them expecting you to do future works at the same rate when your costs are massively different (travel time, parking issues, etc, etc).

This might sound a bit mad BUT go and do a Pretend run of the job and obviously without the strimmer ,just walk it and time the job will give you a accurate cost .

Ste

that's a good idear .

There's poor access for a mower so it's a strimmer job.

not that keen on it but hoping I might get some tree work on the back of it

Had a similar situation this week from a customer, domestic, I went to him and said what price do you think because I have no idea. He said 20 I said that's the figure I had in my head. Which was the truth. If you have a good relationship with the housing association or their accountant or their previous grounds maintenance guy is this an approach you could take? After deciding what you would like for the job obviously.

20 sobs!?! What currency is that. I always broke days down to .25 only as nowt else was worth it unless you can get at least 6 per day within a very small radius.
