About 3k. Indeed size and hopper size alone make it worthwhile, with the bonus if extra 10 horses. Saying that the st6 is great too.

My TR6 had 4 hours on it when forst had to send an engineer out to replace the whole electronic control unit! to be fair they did get an engineer out the next day "all be it with the wrong parts"!

Yes, and bearings and lights. It happens with any brand. It's a brutal industry.

 

Forst have been very good throughout with either an engineer or a spare machine.

i am just looking at getting a tr8 if you don't mind how much will one set me back? as it is that or a tracked 190 timberwolf, what made you choose forst?

Many things. I have some control over the machines and stuff we buy, though, as I'm not the one who has to use it day to day, the guys make the decisions. The TR8 is about £25-26k. Had one out on trial and within a couple of hours the decision had been made.

Timberwolf chippers have their place. They're toys however and fall to bits much more often. We have three 150's and they serve us in their role as back-ups and 750kg machines for guys without their towing ticket.

My st8 came this week, what an animal! Had a good 2 years with the st6, try next as a replacement for our jensen 540t.

Will get some this week mate, I had a gm 220 a few years ago and always missed the ease and capacity when I went to a 6" machine.
