Is it though?

I've done a similar one which I quoted half a day on standing.

When cut it was similar to that. The middle is hollow and the rest is like sponge other than the outside few inches which are solid. I reckon I'd do that in less than an hour.

Strange looking situation though? Obviously we can't see the full picture, but why would anyone let a tree grow to that size between a path and a road with an adjacent drain?:confused1:

I was thinking of the cobbles, pretty unforgiving on the teeth.

Any of you guys got a mini digger you run alongside your grinder ?? I'm thinking of getting one and a dumper small one to get rid of shavings

I do use a digger on the very big stumps. It does mean you have to ferry machinery back and forth, so not really that practical. I really do try to get it onsite where the stump is 10ft + and has been left high, as there is usually a lot of material to move along with a heavy trunk (where conditions allow).

It's a street tree, approx 150 years old. It had grown over the original tree pit which was made of sandstone slabs, and had then grown virtually over second one. Luckily no services underneath. The timber filled over 3 hiabs.

Must have been well soft and rotted to have managed it with just a shovel and a leaf blower!?

Nice job there mate, very tidy:thumbup1:

A design modification to our stumpmaster chainsaw powered stumpgrinder. The new wheel uses 500 series green teeth that are offset on the wheel. Hope it cuts time spent sharpening teeth. Its currently hanging in garage drying after a quick coat of paint. Weighs the same as the standard wheel.

It runs really smooth and have only tried it against the chopping block but look forward to seeing how it works on the job!
