I take it there was a good reason for not felling the whole tree into the field before the oilseed rape was planted or after harvesting?

 

Also, just a small thing of little importance but did the big section at the end land on the steel cable? cause any damage?

Hi, thanks, yeah great weather and a real fun job. Rare to have such a big drop zone, no traffic, bt cables ect!

 

The tree had previously dropped a large limb that wrote off a car and on a separate occasion a child was injured due to a falling limb.

 

The company I work for had suggested, and carried out reduction work on and tree and a deadwood, but the customer was adamant on total removal.

 

One of those jobs, where its a shame to remove such a tree, but also great fun.

The field was separately owned to the house (owner of tree). I was not involve in the planning, but assume that was the best access agreement that fitted in with the time frame for the job.

 

Personally I think it's sometimes easier to process a large mature broadleaf via dismantling. Less mess a d damage to the ground but horses for courses!

 

Don't think the section landed on the cable, but no damage to it, so all good : )
