We ve acquired a burner with boiler and would like to run two rads off it, how does the system work, do you need a pump or do they gravity feed? Cheers

Depends where the rads are going in relation to the boiler and the size of pipe you use.

Pump will most likely be req to circulate the water. Fitted in a bungalow the tank would need to be fitted in the attic providing the gravity feed.

Its perfectly possible to run on gravity, so long as you use large enough pipe.

Probably be a circuit of 20 odd feet max (including return) so you have a header tank I assume to feed in? I sound really ignorant but plumbing not a strong point!

I'm no expert.

Yes you need a header tank, if your going for a vented system.

You need the feed pipe to always be climbing, ideally be at least 22mm or bigger.

I assume you mean feed to rad not boiler?

Hot water side on ours is gravity fed system. When the water is hot it switches to a pumped system to power the rads. We don't have a valve to prevent circulation to the upstairs rads when the pump isn't running so they still get hot. The gravity part of the system is 28mm pipe. The remaing circuit is 22mm pipe with 15mm of shoots as short as possible to the rads.
