A very large portion of blame does lie with the evil bankers, without them forcing credit down people's throat who couldn't afford to pay it back the economy wouldn't have boomed as much but then it surely wouldn't have fell so far on to it's ass.

With great power comes great responsibility. (Or some shizl like that, best ask spiderman for the exact phrase)

Yep and just look at the investigation going on in to the Lehman who some say are responsible for the crash. Or at least had a part init

As for not enough housing, that's quite simple : labour allowed millions of eastern Europeans in to this country to work when we had nearly 3 million people on the dole??? now their children are having children= not enough houses.

Not just eastern europeans either; considerably outnumbered by...:sneaky2:

unless they chose to leave the EU of course.

Yes please, hurry up even though it's too late...

I agree as that's a fact, but this is why this country is over populated and that's a fact

:thumbup1:

I agree Varty, That is also a fact, so too is the fact that fertility has risen amongst UK born women.

:sneaky2: What is the most common name for baby boys born in the UK ??!! :sneaky2:

We already do,it's called the benefit system!

Yes. It's a great way to reduce (skew) unemployment figures.... by having a 'working tax credit' system that results in lots of self-employed people working below the minimum wage or below the unemployment benefit rate.

Yes - and they offset that by insisting disabled and seriously ill people get a job!

All in the name of improving statistics ready for general election vote chasing....

But I, me, mesel, personally, by name, in our local Community, know various persons who, whilst qualifying for the higher rate DLA (and the "free" car) are perfectly capable of working, (2 cases of injury damaged feet), leaves them 90+% mobile and 100% capable of a desk job.

So why should they not be allowed or expected to work?

I think that is what they have been seeking to address, and fair enough.

But there are also others that have very serious health issues being practically harassed into job interviews/ work, and that really isn't fair.

There was a case a while ago where somebody with terminal cancer was being pushed into employment.... and that's just sickening.

Cheers, Steve

Any thoughts/opinion's on the Tory's right to buy policy?

Its a good idea, where council tenants around these parts have purchased their homes its raised the profile of the whole area. The council get to off load housing stocks which are an expensive liabilty and reuse the money for other housing schemes. When someone takes a council house the council are highly unlikely ever to get it back anyway, it just gets passed down the line to other family members.

:thumbup1:This is a Fact The torys try to stigmatize the genuinely ill our local work program provider was dubbed "Lourdes" as when anyone genuinely ill went to their office they were miraculously cured and found fit for work and people wonder why there called the nasty party.
