Best rope for zigzag

Hi all I'm looking at buying a zigzag and wondered what was the best rope to use with it. Current set up is New England rope and Prussik.

Typically 11mm ish is best as it flows throuh better than 13mm. I used yale hedera which was good but didn't stay with it as I went back to my lock jack

Funny you should say that, I've just gone from Lockjack to zigzag using 11.7 hedera. Did a lime reduction today (yeah, Sunday!!) taking the zigzag out for the first time and really liked it. Any reason you went back to Lockjack?

To be honest I have a habit of buying stuff, trying it and going back to what I was on before! I got my zigzag just as the storms hit the other year and started using it but as I was out doing some dodgy stuff I went back to what I knew and liked as didn't want something new in the mix when dealing with some sketchy uprooted trees etc and to be honest didn't go back to it. I keep saying to myself I will give it another go but every time I get to site I just get me normal gear out and crack on although I am going to make some time to go on a rec climb and give it a whirl otherwise I feel like I've wasted £150+!

 

I think that hedera works well with the lock jack from what I used but not so much with the lock jack, I find the lock jack works better with a stiffer rope

Ok mate cheers for that, didn't know you were that local! Yeah we do a fair bit around Keston Park, Croydon Road, West Wickham etc

I use teufelberger with mine it flies through it maybe a little too much so I wouldn't mind trying a bit thicker rope through it to see if it gives a bit more feel

No rich, I was a die hard blue tongue fan till I put tachyon in my zigzag and loving it, really feeds well.
