keep the cooling fins/cowels free of woodchip so you dont cook the engine

 

especially if its a windy day the cooling fan can suck the chip/debris in and block airflow in the cooling system thus buggerin the engine

Thank you that make perfect sense Predator, kind of same logic as i need to clean the cooling fins on my grafic card on the computer or it will overheat.

Regular cleaning

 

Always grease bearings after washing

 

Check/clean air filter regular

 

Check belt condition&tension regular

 

Replace worn or missing parts asap

 

Change/sharpen teeth regular

 

Use with care and don't rush in use

 

There isn't much more you can do

Stainless bolts will likely not be as strong as the originals.

be careful which bolts you are replacing with stainless steel as it has a lower tensile strength than most normal bolts

I'm the kind of guy who service my car 3 times a year to be sure all is fine. So this machine will get a tender touch.

I didn't know this about stainless, all i had in my mind was to avoid rust due to i just dislike rust marks..

I have a big toro mower with a 23hp Kohler in it. It's 33 years old and still cuts 6acres a week with no complaints. Just keep fresh oil and filters and plugs and it should be fine.
