Cameron and Osbourne have been elected to their "lofty" positions. There was no entitlement there. And don't you invest in the Banking System that you appear to dislike intensely? :sneaky2:

How do you mean 'And don't you invest in the banking system..' I'm not sure I follow you there Capetown :confused1:

Mine too. The Private Equity fund has been really good. Your post from 01-02-15 in the thread Re: investment? :D

Oh yes, my kids investment  I hadn't really thought of that as investing in the banking system but I guess it is in a way isn't it?

Heres the other interesting thing about that investment Capetown - the government gave me £250 for each child as a voucher to put into a CTF to get their savings started. F&C have done very well with it, no doubt about that, but they sent me a letter to say they're now imposing a fee of £25 per account per year. Either I pay in an additional £25 a year or they take it from the investment. That could mean that they hoover up yet more governemnt money from those parents that don't take any action - another naughty move I'd say.

'The poor'.

That phrase winds me up.

Work harder. Work smarter. Don't piss your money away. Don't start a family if you're skint. Move if you have to.

Don't wait for a new government to make you un-poor.

I'm voting for the sluttiest looking lass with the biggest tits.

I'm with you on that Mark, Benefits shouldn't be a "lifestyle choice", stand on your own two feet! Labour have a vested interest in not letting the "poor" escape from poverty! No economy has ever taxed their way out of recession, like the French are trying to do.:001_rolleyes: And Two Acres, Vote with your feet on that one! :)

I agree that benefits shouldn't be a lifestyle choice, theres no doubt that for a minority it is. I do believe that its important that we have a welfare system that supports those in times of need though. Not everyone can work effectively throughout their lives. How about some of those on here who have had accidents? Or those that lose their jobs? Or suffer from depression. A friend of mine once said to me 'for most of your life you pay in, but sometimes you may need to take out'. That seems entirely reasonable to me.
