Money isnt everything thats true but when you barely have much of it it is a bit of an issue. And as a boss its easier to say money isnt everything. I am in no way thinking i am worth more thsn i am. I have been told that- which has made me question my pay hence starting the thread. If these threads annoy u then why read it?

As I said- just my humble opinion, nothing directed at you personally.

I think most people, myself included barely have enough money.

There are times when my staff take home more than I do but that's the responsibility of employing people. I don't go starting threads on a public forum about it. That's just the way it is.

P.s it's a but hard to un- read something once it's been read :)

No u just try to put others down for starting one lol. The whole purpose of forums is for other peoples opinions... which i needed to make an informed decision as to whether or not i have the right to approach my boss about it. I want to do it as respectfully as possible.

How much more responsibility/tricky jobs, are you doing since you last agreed on your wage. This might give you more of a case. All your are asking for is a pay review so there shouldn't be any bad feelings about that from your boss.

Good luck.

I'm not putting anyone down- please don't take what I have to say personally.

I'm just stating my opinion on a public forum to someone who asked for any input.

.... I would like to know how much someone with my experience etc should be getting paid on the the books....

The simple answer you should be getting at least the minimum wage. What that equates to in a day rate depends on the hours your work. Any thing above the minimum wage is down to what you are worth to your employer and what they feel they can get way paying to get the job done with maximum profit. Not all employers are equal and other considerations are holiday entitlement, sick pay etc over the the legal minimum need to be taken in to consideration on top of basic pay.
