Although he might be wanting slings to attatch the pulley to the tree... Whoopie slings are good but dear for your first kit, a split tail will suffice and timber hitch it, same for attaching the capstan, think they're listed as slings on fr jones, eg 12mmx5m 16mmx8m ect

I just sold the ultimate rigging kit for cheapo on here. Shame you missed out. (Prob overkill for a beginner!)

50m is plenty for the UK, I have a 70m line of 16mm samson stable braid. It's been used 4 times in 3 years. My 50m lines do 99% of the time.

What about some whoopie slings! Also get some some lifting slings, there cheap and come in handy!! And def a flying capstan

Who is Darrin and what does he know about tree work anyway! 50m, or what I use - 150 feet I have never needed a longer rope on any of the trees I have done here in Long Island. 13mm 1/2 inch Forestry Pro takes some abuse i throw at it! Just today I rigged out a whole oak tree with it, and it was fine.

 

The 5/8ths comes out when negative rigging wood.

I would prob go for the 16mm 5m split tail for the pulley and an 8m one for the capstan.

I use a 13mm rope for my light rigging line

 

Fwiw a50m rope you can do a 90ft tree-pulley at 70-75ft and you still have a few feet to lower with at the end

 

That kit looks very good value when you start to price the bits up individually.

One more question. With double braid can you still take wraps around the bottom of a tree instead of using a friction device as I understand that double b isn't suitable for natural crotch rigging.
