Big Shot Vs Treesruff APTA

I'm in a dilemma, need one of these but can't decide, obviously the big shot is cheaper, but I'm already going to order a roperunner from Treesruff so it evens the price out a little, anyone used both? I like the idea that you can load the apta and take your time to aim, only way of doing this with a big shot is making some kind of trigger, but if I get the big shot it means I can carry on using my awesome throw pod! Dilemma. Anyone used or have both? Any comparisons?

Get a Big Shot.

The lucky launcher ... It's good fun but not as good as the big shot in terms of accuracy and the shot distance varies massively despite the cartridge colours supposed to determine distance as Darrin says the big shot is better.

Tree kits launcher looks good in the videos I've seen though but again I recon it won't be as consistent as the big shot from my brief experience with propelled launchers.

me tinks the big shot is simplistic, proven and foolproof. The udder options are bulky and take up alot more space in the truck.

Big shot is an accurate piece of kit. I made a trigger for it using a trigger for archery and a small prusik -not my idea, think I saw it on climbing arborist or so.

 

It's a very simple system -and that's what is nice about it.

Has anyone tried building the APTA? It doesn't look that difficult to do. I need to look more into the pipe sizes and order them up. I can get the threads cut easy and its just a standard gas ball valve with a bike Shrader valve. If anyone has one I would be interested to know the pipe internal Dia. and the wall thickness.
