Ferris/Scag/Toro/Hustler/Great Dane walk behind, anymore

Recommended Posts

Hi

I'm looking at buying one of the above type mowers, 48" mulch deck.

I've demo'd the Ferris and Hustler and prefer the controls of the Hustler and the lower price.

Do any of you guys use something similar and what are your thoughts. It will be used on banks and will be owner operated.

Thanks

We've got a Ferris flail and have had a few issues with electrics on it. Expensive to get hold of the parts and replacement unit was faulty as well. Great when it's working though!

Used to have a Scagg 36" flail and it was incredible. Would smash through chest high brambles and small saplings yet it would give a reasonable grass cut and leave stripes! Very versatile and absolutely bombproof...

I'm a Scag fan. The Sabre Tooth Tiger I bought from R T Machinery - Welcome is still going strong nine years on.

Bucher used to make a good walk behind machine but I can't find them offering anything new on a search. Perhaps they have been re-branded? Scag have a similar machine to this old Bucher.
