Overtightening can and will cause premature failure . Just saying Saturn Knives have done me proud for many a year .

 

Looking at those cracks you may have a point, do you torque those in Johnny?

Funny the only time I used Saturn knives in my TW they cracked. They were torqued correctly. I have never used them since. This is my opinion on blades.

Used Saturn for years, tempered right, never too brittle or soft.

That's not good. Use Saturn knives all the time and not had any problems. Must be a dodgy batch

dont torque ,neither do i use a scaffolf=ding bar to get them tight,just kind of got a feel for whats tigh over thr yrs ,in this chippers case 9yrs

Batfink would be very appropriate for this thread .........As his wings are made of steel not just any ordinary steel but a special steel which only timberwolf use lol . Oops sorry and Greenmech ; )

Why would you not torque them? They have torque wrench settings for things for a reason. Glad you don't fix aeroplanes:)

I really don't see why you have to take the pee? I'm putting across what I have been led to believe of the manufacturing process that goes into making genuine TW blades.
