  1. 1. How Much

    • Nothing! He's wasted lots of time and caused grief.
    • Piece-rate, £60 for the two days
    • Full rate, £150 it is the price agreed upon
    • Other, Please specify?

Be the bigger man, stand by your word and pay the agreed amount.

But in all honest you should have shown him the door within the first few days or moved him onto piece rate.

IMO.

Spot on...especially liking the piece rate !!

You can have double that if you can make it to Huntingdon for 7am tomorrow and sun ...

I'm half tempted. The 4 hour drive back Sunday night puts me off a little, I'll message you!

Great advice, hopefully I will keep that in mind to make sure I'm still on the right track. Although I'm still at college I'm starting my own free lance business now. My business plan should get o.k ed in the next month or so. I have basic kit so its just a case of insurance and bagging my climbing certs. I would like to take on piece work as a self employed climber. I want to meet some of you nice arbtalkers up and down the country. I like to live quite humbly as I'm not keen on shopping, ornaments, big tellys etc.I have a small cabin in the woods and I plan to chainsaw carve sculptures. I sell some already.I have a BA Hons degree in art and sculpture so I'll be o.k. Thats it really. I don't aspire to a mortgage or a fancy truck. I want to travel the country, live life for the now, meet you nice folk and work with wood. I'm already living out my plan to some extent. I'm sure I will start to charge more, get more work and get better at carving.I know it doesn't sound like everyone's dream but it's mine :-)

Get yer sel down to Kendal and I could give you some work perhaps:)

As for "the boy" he sent me an invoice for £100 for his two days. I thought that showed that perhaps he understood?

Sent a cheque for £150 as its the right thing to do (and it seems most if you agree).

Thanks very much to all that voted.
