How many miles a year do you do

Brochure candy floss you ever been in a head on or side impact they work trust me it's painfully enough hitting a bag of air better than plod having to identifies you by medical records as there still pulling your face out the dash..

Currently only about 25,000.

Prior to these last 18 months I was doing 50,000 plus per year. I did this for 6 years and wore out two cars completely in three years.

I didn't have any crashes and haven't since. Maybe my standard of driving is a little higher than average as a result eh.

No problems with mine but I don't tow much, none of the modern pick ups are any good for towing on a daily basis IMO, small highly strung engines and weak clutches/gear boxes.

Don't agree with that mate, the Dmax has the landcruiser transfer box (apparently) and if your towing, get the the Dmax auto. The Dmax has been aimed squarely at the farmer / towing market.

I had top of the range Nissan Auto it broke down 5 times in four week.

I now have top of the range Dmax Auto and have towed over the limit with it no problems and no glitches

Yeah I know that but what I'm getting at is the tiny highly tuned engines that there all doing now nissan as well, loads of power but for how long ????Next truck will be auto

I tow v little, 1.5t max tracked chipper but I reckon if your towing daily these new small engined pick ups won't last long.

I know what you mean Ian, we will have to see what happens in time, thats the only way they'll prove themselves. I does all depend on how well engineered they are, all they are doing is making them more efficient. The old lumbering engines such as donkey engines were probably only 30% efficient and I bet in the future, they'll squeeze even more out of an engine which will make these new super efficient engines look like donkey engines :001_smile:

Yeah there rated to 3.5t but it doesn't change the fact the dmax has a small highly tuned twin turbo engine! 3.2 ranger or 3l hilux must be better.

Personally wouldn't say 170hp is much for a 2.5 twin turbo. Boost levels are fairly mild, manufactures are pulling that from 1.6-2.0 TD engines nowadays.

For a work truck though we need low down grunt not high end hp .
