I know there are lots of Fred fans on here . I just wandered how many of you knew that you could have a 2 hr guided tour of his old home and yard . I didnt know about it until my lady booked it for me . What an amazing and worthwhile trip . Get yourself down to Bolton people .

Is his son there???

No he's not . The Tour Guide was very informative and funny with some really good banter . His Fred impressions were great :001_smile: Some of the buildings in Bolton as you know are beautiful . Just thought I would tell others of my great day out .

I always intended going to Fred's yard with the timber trailer full of fire wood for his steam engine, but his untimely death scuppered that.

Defiantly some where I would love to visit.

If your a Dibnah fan and visit Bolton its worth a slight detour to Darwen to see the classic chimney Fred climbed with the massive overhangs. Its only when your at the base of the chimney you realise the scale. Certainly a good challenge for any climbers.
