Hello to all,

 

Im a new one to this site,

 

Im heading to college in september to study arboriculture, and cant wait for it.

 

For the course i need all the general PPE

Boots, trousers, helmet, etc

 

But whats the best stuff for a student?

 

For the boots i have been looking at Elten Fellsmen and trousers stihl Hiflex

and im not sure about helemt

 

any advise greatly appreciated

Hello, FR JONES AND SON is THE best place to get arb equipment from, Im sure plenty on here will reply to this mate, you'll get some good info, If it were me is get the hi-flex pants and haix boots, ive just got a pair of haix trekkers, there awesome.

Im afraid I cannot help you on the PPE front but just a quick welcome to a great forum, we will no doubt come across each other on line in the coming months, there are aload of great people on here who will advise you on the best gear for you.

elton boots are a good budget boot that will serve you well, as will any of the cheaper type a, or c trousers. speak to justin(fr jones)he will keep you right, i wouldnt go and spend fortunes on the the shiniest, fanciest clothing, it will lul you into a false sense of security that this job is like the arb magazines, cool poses and catalogue model looks..get yourself a skid lid, boots and ballsitics and get stuck right in..welcome to the forum mate:001_cool:

Welcome :001_smile:I do like my hiax boots. I have had husky sthl and sip trousers and i prefer the sip, i was talking to a chainsaw carver at the weekend and he said he liked sip best more comfy and hard waring but to hot in the summer oh what summer LOL:001_smile:
