I've got one of those but despite paying a fortune each month in maintenance it still refuses to work. Excessive use of the 'garage door opening switch' just makes the opener grumble and whine

Actually some of the proper automated garage door openers are very useful for counteracting LDME (Laser Distance Measuring Equipment) as when the get hit by a laser beam they repeat the laser pulse thus giving LDME a false reading because it thinks it is getting signals back from 2 different vehicles of different speed due to the delay between the refracted beam and the repeater beam

 

Of causes its illegal to have one fitted if you don’t have automated garage door opener using that system.

 

You get similar systems for automated garage doors etc that also do the same with C, K and X band radar.

if i said "Actually some of the proper automated garage door openers" i may well have actually watch the video to know it wasnt a proper automated garage door opener.

 

just think is I had just said "Hahahahahahaha" or "fantastic" what would you have learnt? At lest you may have come away from this thread feeling amused & wiser.
