Editing software for macbook

Just bought a mac book and want to edit all the go pro footage I've collected. I downloaded the go pro software on my desktop at home but couldn't make head nor tail of it. Are there any free alternatives that you boys recommend?

Not used iMovie yet but I would imagine its just as intuitive to use as all apples other software

I used I movie on my footage..to be honest I found it easier than the go pro one!

But then I am quite new to it!

IMovie is straight forward to use. Just done a stills/GoPro/AR drone compilation with background tunes. It's taking ages to upload though.

 

One thing I would say, the "standard" video edit is frame by frame and so you have massive segments to cut. Then there's a "detailed edit" tab which breaks down individual frames. Way too fine a level of detail for my sausage fingers!

iMovie unless you've got some money then Final Cut Pro is the best thing I've ever used.

Go pro software is really easy. I think you may struggle with iMovie if you had a job on with GOpro.

 

Either one of them take a bit of tinkering to get used to.

I wondered if GoPro would slot into IMovie. It Does, and so does AR Drone. I found IMovie easier than GoPro when it came to editing. Just banged the whole job in from GoPro and cut it down in IMovie. First attempt attached below:

try changing the settings on youtube that detect shaky video the drone footage is wobbly wobbly
