Tool vaults

Having recently been cleared out of chainsaws and brush cutters, I am looking to improve my security in my farm buildings.

Has anyone got any stories of "tool vaults"?

Have they stopped an attempt, or failed dismally.

 

Along the same thought process- can you store saws vertically- with bars downwards and back handles upwards.

I was thinking of a shelve with slots in it. Worried it might have an adverse effect on the anti vibe springs and rubbers. Any thoughts?

That's how they travel in a tractor scabbard..... Line them up in a tool vault. Stick a steel bar through the handles.... Sounds good!

I remember some years ago. An approved site vault. Big walk in thing. Ours withstood a couple attempts untill the simple used gas torch to cut through the back of it

But even when the cut the hinges it stayed shut because of locking bars into bith sides of the doir frame

A good vault. But pricey i should think

A farm I worked for have a 10ft container for a chemical store. Would make a excellent tool store in the corner of a workshop/yard. Was thinking of getting 1 when I move site

I think they are good for stopping the chancers. But as Karl said iv heard of people using gas axes and even jaws of life to open them up like a can of sardines.

 

I think they are a brilliant as a slowing tactic and if combined with an alarm system that requires the police to be there within 10 mins could be near enough bomber!.

ex bank / data safe ,some on ebay ,get a fair few saws in them, steel & concrete,fire proof,

wow you would have to dig a big hole in the floor and it would be awkward putting saws in !
