Does the saving in weight compared to steel make any difference?

I have only ever used steel climbing spikes and never think that I wish they were lighter!

Can a kg or 2 affect peoples climbing that much or I am missing something else about them :confused1:

They aint a kg lighter i wish. They are just as strong as steel but roughly 30% lighter and yes on a long job they do make a difference.

The velcro is comfty quick and easy to use.

I have them so i think there the best simples.

Thanks for the replies.

My main reasons for buying the Buckinghams is the twisted shank and the ability to connect the footplate add-ons, something you cant do with the Bashlin alloys I currently use.

Meh, those footplates have never struck my fancy. They seem awkward for any limb walking/whatnot.

Totally agree MB!!

They look awful!!
