Where are the trees?

As a mobile miller I might be able to help,trees of that size no problem,pm me if at all interested,although having just re read thread from start.....i might have to charge you mileage....as I am in s.norfolk

Yep, definitely too good for a chainsaw mill. Might be a touch big for a Woodmizer style mill - Youcallthatbig, you run an Autotrek?

Correct Jon,have cut similar sized elms some years ago in Cambridgeshire,not many that size left around me now,mostly small hedgerow stuff sadly. Would love to cut more of it,make a pleasant change from ash and oak. Would agree with your comments regarding mills, that size of log needs something bigger than W/M et al, and would be a sin to create so much sawdust with a chain mill.

here is a bowl turned from one of these trees. justin kindly sent me a block.

it was ever so slightly spalted but looks very nice.

the bottom two picture have the most realistic colour.
