This might be a daft question but I've heard differing responses so thought I'd ask on here...

If I was to do the aerial rescue, would I first need my climbers ticket?

You don't need any other tickets to do a CS38.its just airial resue. They will teach you how to climb,do correct knots etc. But you do need CS38 to do your CS39 along with CS30/31

You need to do the climbing ticket before you do the aerial rescue ticket.

It's like doing your felling ticket without your maintenance ticket

You can pass the climbing bit but you can fail on the aerial rescue it doesn't mean you'll fail the whole thing

Unit 1 is climbing unit 2 is rescue

I have just passed my Climbing and Aerial rescue this past Wednesday and correct me if I'm wrong but I was told that if I failed on any of the overall criteria during the assessment then I would have failed the whole thing.

I would not have left that assessment with just the climbing unit, it's a whole package deal or zilch.

I thought this was the case also.

That's news to me. What's a climbing ticket? I did my CS38 years ago without any other tickets. Apart from airial rescue the weeks course coverd basic climbing technique aswell as basic knots etc. Then did my CS30/31/32 then 39.

I stand corrected. Old school I guess.
