About to get a new lid, was gonna go for another Vertex Vent, any other recommendations?

 

Anyone tried the Italian Treepro lids?

 

Also, thinkin o tryin earplugs n mesh goggles, yay or nae?

The alveo is worth a look it's the lightest out of all the lids on the market I have had.... Owned the vertex ,edelrid ,protos and stein plasma and its between the protos and alveo that I would choose but with the the alveo you can put decent MSA ear muffs on.

I'm prob one of the very few that use ear plugs, I prefer them, better sound deadening, lightweight and cooler in the summer, sure there was a thread I set up with pictures on here somewhere

I have had a protos, vent and stein/kasks....I prefer the stein with MSA mesh visor and defenders....it's light and durable...found the fit of the vent weird for my head and the protos to be slightly big and heavier, that being said nothing seals like the muffs of the protos and the mesh shield is very good. They are all good helmets, I find that a helmet is such a personal thing like most climbing kit. Try and see if you can try a few first to see what you like. I did not have that luxury and had to buy them all. ha ha
