Top handled saws?

If you had four 200ts it would be a miracle if they all worked as well.

I used to bring in my own 200 so I would not get lumbered with a dog, should not of had too but there was always saws that never ran right, if lots of people are using them unfortunatly that is usually the case.

 

Ive never had a 020t or 200t as unreliable as these can't comment on the 201 mind.

 

When we got them we had three main climbers each allocated their own saw and one as a back up this kind of went out the window as soon as the first one had the dodgy hose come off the carb, dont think weve had three runners since.

 

One of our guys is a tad clumsy and on the few occasions I get up there I'm not the most subtle, but then again I'm used to a tougher saw.

Still can't beat a 200t IMO they are like italian sports cars, a bit unreliable but go like stink when they work!

 

I really like the husky top handle but it feels like it has been made by a group of under 5's in a chinese factory. Inside the first week i'd broken the tool strop and the chain brake handle but overall i like the saw just have to be gentle with it. Both of the 201's we have at work are terrible, slow pick and up crap top end. One of them is an original when they first came out and the other is a late 2014 and are both as bad as each other.

 

If it were my money I would buy a husky, just buy a few spares with it at the same time

What!? That means I have to buy a new muffler AND figure out how to use a screwdriver! Get real Eddy!

 

It's Stihl's own fault I was forced to take an auger to the can in the first place!

Oh bugger, so it's either new muffler or a bit of tin foil and a pritt stick then. Anyone got a spare unmodded muffler I could borrow? Or a pritt stick?

Buxtons it is then I could use my local dealer, they wouldn't know the difference between modded and stock, but that isn't exactly a ringing endorsement now, is it?

I had a echo 360 for a few years and was really good saw, bar mount stud broke so I replaced with xp540. The Xp 540 is good saw when cutting but is a pain to start ( been back to dealer for tune ) and I have now fixed my echo and going to use that as my main saw again.

Parts for echo in three years use one air filter and bar mount stud.

Parts for xp 540 in 14 months new petrol tank after 1 foot drop from garden wall, new chain tensioner.
