I'm 27 and climb most days, had problems with a weak knee due to a past accident before I started climbing but the more I climbed the stronger it got, very rarely get a problem with it now so you may find that some aches or pains dissappear due to increased strength from regular climbing. I don't think there should be an age limit really, if you fit and healthy and want to do it then just do it ☺👍

i'm 26 and climb on and off depending on the job. i agree with Coletti that any aches fade away with more regular climbing. if i haven't put the harness on for a while i'm sore afterwards!

Also worked with a guy who was in his mid fifties. he used a ladder for the first few meters but was still fast in the canopy.

(Answering Joe Newton)

You seem like a straight guy Joe but only a twenty something year old would say that!

I'm 50 something and can tell you that in reality the climbing side of things is manageable, it's the rest of it, ringing up, shifting logs, even raking up in the afternoon which will finish you, if you can stay clear of serious injury/wear and tear, sure one can climb quite late into life, but, don't lift heavy stuff, leave it to the twenty six year olds!

Well said I will be 48 this year been climbing 8 years....and I feel good but I am sure that's because I started climbing at 40...and not 20...plus I been SRT for 3.5 of those years what a dream that style is compared to DdRT....

It,s true Paul, climbing style/method has made going up,moving about and coming down a lot easier and in some systems like SRT effortless. I changed from years on a prussick to a Spiderjack a few years ago and now on a ZigZag it has saved a lot of fatigue. Add to that friction savers, pantins etc and climbing trees could be done indefinitely. But I am very interested in getting into SRT (rope runner) like yourself as I shall soon be 47.
