loft/roof space conversion

All depends on the size of the loft conversion we did one 10 years ago by a specialist company Trussed Loft Conversions 25k gained 2 big bedrooms saved moving and all costs involved which now mount up .

That's silly money, I converted a garage into living space for less than that including roof space. See some pics.

My son has just done a loft conversion so this is going on the bits I can remember as I was not involved too much.

Joists need to be 200 mm x 50 mm at 400 mm centres.

Velux is ok for fire escape,but has to be fixed no higher than 1 m at lowest point.

Fire door has to be fitted at top of staircase.

planning was not needed but building inspector has called on regular basis.
