New TW190TDHB fuel tank

We had a new 190 first used Friday 9th Jan to replace the older machine there are a few new features on the new one including a new style fuel tank. This morning 13 Jan I noticed the fuel tank seemed to be imploding on itself I could not undo the fuel cap as it was really tight, behind the cap there is( looks like ) a grease nipple on the tank we loosened the nipple off and there was a hiss of air drawing in and the tank went back to it's correct shape, we still had to knock the cap to loosen it but is now fine. Has anyone else had this problem, I have e-mailed TW and await a response.

Mine is a 2009 and it does the same, not to the extent that you cant undo the cap, i usually take it off so it doesnt keep sucking the tank in. had a car that did the same

Makes a change from the old ones which leak out of the drain plug..

Obviously a tank breather issue, would that not be straining the fuel pump?

someone mentioned their new 230 was doing the same - but replaced on warranty I believe

My 150 did that years ago, it was caused by a dodgy fuel cap that didn't breathe.

There was an issue with the earlier breathers that were fitted, there is a retro fit kit that is available from your Timberwolf dealer, contact them and they should sort it for you foc.

Timberwolf fuel tank breathers currently use a 6mm nipple valve which seals any fuel from leaking from the tank but allows air to be drawn in to replace any vacuum created by fuel being used by the engine. This valve uses the same principal as vented fuel caps on other internal combustion engine applications.

These valves are mass produced and the odd failure can occur, if you contact Timberwolf Technical on 01449 765820 a replacement will be sent straight away to address the problem.
