And the Cornish on the other flank. Plenty of nice beaches though. :001_smile:

I had thought about parts availability and I'll try and visit somewhere to handle a few saws, thanks.

wont go wrong with a dolmar

I've a 109, which I'd take to be the older brother of the 420. I've owned it from new, not one jot of bother with it over the years and I fully expect it to serve me well for many more years to come.

Assuming they still build them like they used to I don't think you'll do much better.

Stihl offer 1 year pro warranty, 2 for non-pro users. This is because a Stihl is usually shagged after the first year, everyone else offers 2 or more for a pro user

I bet if I take my Stihl and cut you in half, you're like a stick of Brighton rock. Husquvarna Whore through and through

For the record, any pro Stihl machine I've had has never needed a warranty claim. In fact, the only time I've used the Stihl warranty was for a BG-86 switch.

I had thought about Dolmar but I'm not sure where the nearest dealer is in North Devon?

I've asked Echo and it seems you just need the one service after 24 months to get the guarantee. I'm waiting on a confirmation so don't quote me.

As for the other comments I'm not overly bothered about speed, or colour. :001_tt2: Safety, ease of use and reliability yes.
