TPO work question

Another element that might affect the price is that the competitor has clearly got your information from the TPO online notification and they know who the other contractor is.

 

It is entirely possible that they have sharpened their bid to be ultra competitive in order to deny a competitor work.

 

If that is the case you have to wonder where they are going to shave the work to keep it in profit?

 

Do you not try to beat your competitors quotes when you price a job or do you walk away if you know someone else has quoted so you don't deny your competitors work?

 

I would of got other quotes to try to get the best price and job done so this firm seem to be ahead of the game to me - the more I think about it I think its a good idea!?

The firm that filled in the form did it at my house when he came to do the quote, filled it in with me and it took us about 5 minutes to do. How can anyone justify 5minutes worth of work to be £60-£100, do you all charge for giving written quotes as there must of been the same amount of work as giving a written quote and posting it out to me?

 

I know nothing of TPO's..... But, do you really think that surveying a site, submitting the requird paper work for any job takes 5 minutes?

To fill that paperwork in he must have looked at the tree, to you its a pile of wood and some leaves, clearly this person could see more than that and found justification for the fell.

 

That takes knowledge and experience, bit more than 5 minutes there.

I came on here for advice not to be put down. Just because im a customer not a professional in the arboricultural indusrty doesn't mean I don't know when a tree is dead! Im not stupid. I didn't ask for a site survey I asked for a quote which most companies do for free. Would you charge customers for the same advice if the tree was not protected with a TPO and then speak to your customers as if they had done wrong if went with a better quote.

I was trying to say that it's not just about about the amount of time said form takes to fill in.

It's about more than that!

They said they would quote me once the permission had come through so we knew what could be done to the tree as was unsure would be allowed to have any work done.
