Rain, rain...................

Ok, lets be honest, who does keep working through this stuff?

Personally i will go out if the weather is ok, but the forcast is bad and then keep working anyway.

However if its like it was this morning when i got up NOOOOO way!

How far do you "push it"?

There's always something that can be done. Service your chipper, check your ropes, mend all those tools that get put to one side. Or, just spend time with the family, go visit those older relo's that are at home always.

I don't expect my guys to work in any weather that I wouldn't work in. I'm with Ed......done all that.Worked in the pissing rain in Cork, snow in Munich and gail force winds in New York. If my guys don't want to work due to shite weather I'm not one to push them. We'll sometimes go out in the rain in the morning, work until drenched, then knock off...depends on how much work we have and what type, takedowns, pruning, stump grinding etc.

I worked in it today. Not much choice really, although I wasnt too keen when I heard the rain on the bedroom window first thing this morning! All easy groundwork so no real safety issues. I have done a big oak reduction on a day very much like today, while in the employment of another firm. I wouldnt want to do that kind of thing again, and working for myself, at least i can pick and choose to some extent what i do on wet days.

Being based in Manchester, not working on wet days is commercial suicide!
