Going getting a new saw and had a look at this saw what are they like I'm a newbie with chainsaws normally get a fella in to cut wood for me but would like to cut for myself when needed thanks

Weren't you looking to run a tractor log splitter in another post? Ringing up enough to keep that fed with an MS181 will get old very quickly....

What do you want to use the saw for?

Ok. I apologise for my actions in this case. The PMs in question are not nefarious. I only sought to inform the OP of my gathered thoughts, data & personal opinions. And that if posted openly, could serve to dilute the overall thread.

As to stating that I'd sent a PM. In the past, I rarely if ever checked my mailbox. So without being told, I rarely noticed that someone was trying to contact me or had sent info my way. I'm not saying everyone is/was like me in that respect, only that there could be a possibility.

I remember having to start a thread to get you to check your in box Dafydd !

What are you on about, a new message window pops up when you visit ArbTalk!

Surely posting your thoughts in the thread would enrich rather than dilute the thread- that's what a forum is for, other people's opinions :thumbup1:

'PM sent' in the the thread is self aggrandising rubbish. That idiot Lyncombe Climber started it, with his super secret forestry price list. I don't care if people share or not, but if someone chooses to share with only a select few then do it privately without clogging up a thread IMHO.

Agreed Ruben and he has said sorry . In his defense it took me about 3 weeks to get him to notice a pm I had sent him and then I had to start a thread to get him to look in his inbox . He is a good sort really .

Wasn't meant as a personal attack. I have this thing were I really really want to help people out for some reason. :001_smile: I suspect TBG is the same, hence the PM to the OP? :thumbup1:

I want a saw for cutting up small stuff have a lot of goats willow around these parts and want a log splitter for big stuff. A neighbour brought me a lot of pig pine that fell in storms here, nobody around these parts (Southern Ireland) has a log splitter as people burn peat most of the time

I can't comment on others and how they access Arbtalk. But via an iPod Touch, no new window pops up. I get the 'Timeline' or 'Unread' screen, (posts and or threads but not private messages). I guess it's a way of saving processing RAM on a small sized platform.

Anyway, after someone has shot me again. Could we please get back to helping the OP out with their quest... ... ... sorry, I thought I heard a chamber filling.

Don't know why anyone is getting at TGB. It's not like he's the only one on here that says when they've sent a pm.

Anyway, the op does get a 181/211 make sure you get the full chisel chain. Makes the cutting far better
