Standard spec or chipper spec?

Hi all. When I last bought a helmet I only remeber it either being for ground use or climbing.

 

Now when I click on climbing helmets it gives me the option of standard spec or chipper spec, what's the difference?

No.

 

I found them to be a pita and ended up taking the red spacers out as the muffs keep popping off your ears.

Can't say i noticed any difference anyway.
