Smithers, can ya tell us the spec of yer truck please, with regards to enjun type/cc etc. got low box, difflocks etc. what can it lift, what can it winch, what can it tow? Is it a 12 tonner, etc

Yes i do like it alot.:001_smile:

Hi wicklamulla

The engine is 8.2L TD and as hi & low box and locking diffs, the max weight the crane lifts is 3800KG on the first arm and 1200KG on full reach which is 14m, it weighs 8.3tonne(without the crane) and can carry 8 tonne, unsure about towing as I've never used it for towing but is fitted with military tow bar and plugs for the air brakes, as for the winch it's 10 tonne and is driven by the gear box so the higher the gear the faster it will go. It also as a air brake on it so you can tension up and lock it off.

Hope this helps

Nice, was on a job couple of weeks ago and my old m type rolled in, fully restored, it had Perkins phaser in and the 070 on it when sold but not winch or blasting equipment and he's put a new cab on:1ddd67c46e93494dc51e891ba07b97ff.jpg

The old Bedford tum/tul would go anywhere I used to drive them when I first joined the army. They was replaced with MAN trucks. But I'd have a Bedford off road any day of the week.

Some regiments did the Artilary in particular seem to use the daf and pinsKaur (probably spelt wrong) i belive its to do with the hight of the towing hitch of the guns they tow being to low for the newer trucks. But the Bedfor was still in service 10 years ago when I joined.

The vehicle they use now is the 6,9 &12t man sv pretty good price of kit l.

:confused1: 14M reach? it only looks to to have two extensions, which would be 7M. My palfinger is 14M and has 5 extensions.
